CLIVE BARKER'S A-Z OF HORROR (2 DVDS) (1997)  Presented by Clive Barker. Created as a companion piece to Clive Barker's book of the same name, this 6 part documentary covers everything from Grand Guignol to Godzilla and Ed Gein.  A must for any fans of horror documentaries. There is some transfer jumping in the first few minutes. Others subjects covered: H.P. Lovecraft, Shinya Tsukamoto, Shirley Jackson, John Carpenter, The Exorcist, Tom Savini, and much more. This is the best documentary on the horror genre you will see.

AMERICAN SCREAMS an interesting documentary on the great American roller coaster, and it's perfectly hosted and narrated by the abominable Dr. Phibes himself, Vincent Price. Includes other short films to bedazzle the senses.

AMIN: THE RISE AND FALL (1980) Directed by Wade Huie.  The Repulsive tyrant of Uganda who raped, tortured, and ate his people is presented in this twisted docu-drama. GET THIS TITLE presented with COLOR BOX ART here

ANTON LAVEY: SPEAK OF THE DEVIL (1995) One of the most fascinating and accomplished figures of this or any other age, CHURCH OF SATAN founder ANTON LAVEY. This unique documentary contains exclusive interviews and musical performances by LaVEY, historic clips including a rare early Kiddie Show appearance (" The Brother Buzz show") and a fascinating tour of his legendary Victorian San Francisco home, universally known as "The Black House"... This privileged peek at LaVey's lair includes his Ritual Chamber, Music Room, Library and the infamous retreat he called the "Den of Iniquity", a perfect reproduction of a dank and slightly dangerous Saloon which Lavey peopled with lifelike statuettes of brokendown bar patrons that he made himself. This copy of SPEAK OF THE DEVIL is printed from the director's original dub so it is perfect quality!

BEING DIFFERENT (1981) A documentary about the strongest people to ever breathe the air we clearly do not deserve: A tribute to the spirit and humanity of people who are physically different from the average: very tall and very large men and women, a bearded woman and her long-time husband, Siamese twins joined at the midsection, and several little people including actor Billy Barty. We meet some at Gibsonton, Florida, where carnival folk winter. They talk about their lives and accomplishments. The camera also goes on the road to visit a grandfather with a distinctive face, a legless mechanic from Kentucky on a second honeymoon in LA, a marathon runner and motivational speaker who has no feet, a karate student with partial limbs, and an armless, down-to-earth mom in Texas.

CHRIS BURDEN DOCUMENTARY Chris Burden is a performance artist that shot himself on stage, and this documentary explores his strange art and even weirder life.

BURROUGHS (1985) An exemplary documentary on the life of William S. Burroughs. In the fashion of Crumb, get to know the history of this great writer through exclusive interviews and readings by Burroughs himself (he even acts out a brilliantly bloody scene from his writings). CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE A fascinating documentary that was supposed to be destroyed because it claims that a sex ring has been occurring that goes all the way to the White House. This title is a great companion with the Ted Gunderson lecture Conspiracy of Heresy.

CRONENBERG COMPILATION (2 DVDs) A great compilation of unavailable documentaries, TV appearances, and interviews with the director of Scanners, Shivers, Rabid, and many more body destroying films.

SOFT SELF PORTRAIT OF SALVADOR DALI television special, narrated by Orson Wells, about Dali's life and work. A very informative and interesting documentary for any fan of Dali's work. Also includes a 1 minute advertisement for this program. Two French television commercials starring Salvador Dali - one is for Lanvin Chocolates, the other is for Alka-Seltzer. An interview with Alfred Hitchcock discussing the dream sequences of Hitchcock's film Spellbound, in which Dali provided special effects. DEATH SCENES (1989) Hosted by Anton LaVey. LaVey takes you through a slide show of crime related murder from the 40s and 50s.

DEATH SCENES 2 (1992) This time Death Scenes presents actual video footage of death and tragedy. Includes the infamous Bud Dwyer suicide and rare photos of Sharon Tate's murder scene.

DEVIL WORSHIP: EXPOSING SATAN'S UNDERGROUND This is the "special" that in many peoples opinion (including myself) sparked the SATANIC PANIC ,ass hysteria of the late 80's and early 90's. If you have never seen this you need to.... The special aired during prime time on OCTOBER 25th, just before Halloween in 1988. The phrase Satan's Underground presumably refers to the book of the same name by Lauren Stratford. Cornerstone Magazine, an Evangelical Christian periodical, exposed the book as a hoax in their Dec/Jan 1989/90 issue.It is believed that there were a number of authors of anti-Satanic books on the show: Mike Warnke, Michelle and/or Dr. Lawrence Pazder, and Lauren Stratford. All have been exposed as frauds by various Christian, Neopagan and secular groups' program lasted through two hours of prime time, and reached an enormous TV audience. He discussed Satanism, which was described as "this force that exalts evil and darkness." The episode included discussions of: butchered infants, breeding of babies for later sacrifice during Satanic rituals, ritual sexual abuse of children, mutilation of infants, drinking of blood, dismembered corpses, cannibal cults and sex orgies. There were "gruesome rituals," and "gruesome memories," and "gruesome allegations," and "brutally violent, horrible crimes," and acts "so incredibly outrageous, so incredibly unbelievable," that he was reluctant to describe them. "The most gruesome scenes are left out," Rivera commented. Throughout the show, Rivera kept telling his viewers that the program was not suitable for young children to watch. He said near the start: "The very young and impressionable should definitely not be watching this program tonight...This is not a Halloween fable." At various times, he said: Get them away from the TV during the next report." or "I am begging you...Please get them out of the room, or change the station!" Unfortunately, such disclaimers often serve to increase the number of child viewers. And the timing of the show during prime time just before Halloween has moved some skeptics to wonder about Geraldo's sincerity.

DONALD CAMMEL: THE ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE (1998) A brilliant filmmaking related documentary that projects the heartache and blood in Hollywood, and how dreams really don't come true--they get raped. Cammel directed the great Performance with Nicholas Roeg; after this films success, new projects were underway, but studios soon stepped in and disrupted his films and love for filmmaking.

TV TOY COMMERCIALS This is an awesome collection of toy commercials; from sci-fi playsets, Gi Joe, and giant monsters, it's really great to see how they used to try and create these great illusions of plastic.

EUROTIKA 2 DVD Documentary Series Created by Peter Tombs, the writer of Immoral Tales: European Sex and Horror Movies 1956-1984. 10 Episodes: Spanish Horror, Italian Horror, So Sweet, So Perverse; Eurocine; Mad Doctors, Jess Franco; Jose' Larraz; French Blue; Jose' Benazerof; Michael Reeves.

ISSI SAGAWA: EXCUSE ME FOR LIVING The most famous Japanese cannibal is highlighted by interviews and readings of his published novels. This may be the most interesting documentary of a serial killer.

FALLEN ANGELS (1984) A horrible documentary on the 80's porno scene. Yes, it is so poorly done you will find funny in it. Expect to see those actors that raised you into the pervert you are.

ROBERT FRIPP: CAREFUL WITH THAT AXE Documentary on the pretentiuosly fun leader of King Crimson. This collection also includes some early King Crimson footage during Larks Tongue and Aspic, plus a Frank Zappa documentary.

JOHN FRUSCIANTE INTERVIEW PLUS LIVE KENTUCKY 1997/ ELECTRIC SET Before Frusciante cleaned himself from heroin, there was an interview by a Danish film crew that captured the broken shell of a man close to death. An interesting study on Frusciante and drug abuse. The tape also contains and outdoor live set and an electric set with the bass player from Fishbone.

HR GIGER COMPILATION This collection of documentaries and footage that closely explores the sexual futurism of HR Giger.

GIRLS BITE BACK (1980) An interesting documentary on the rise of women music artists. The movie mainly covers Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Slits, with interviews with Robert Smith and Viv Albertine.

GOD'S ANGRY MAN (1980) Directed by Werner Herzog. This documentary that captures the battles of a televangelist is non biased and personal. This true use of documentary shows us a man with the same devils and gods within him as we all have. The documentary is a cathartic meeting in the way Herzog always pulls off.

GODDESS BUNNY (1998) Goddess Bunny is a 90 minute documentary about The Goddess Bunny, a gay transvestite (hoping to be trans-gendered at the time of the filming) underground entertainer and model who is also a polio victim.We see Bunny off and on stage, where she lip syncs, as well in her movie appearances. Mostly the film consists of several interviews with Bunny in and out of drag, as well as interviews with friends and acquaintances (some of whom we also see perform).

GODSPEED, YOU BLACK EMPEROR (1976) Japanese w/ English Subtitles. This film has quickly become a cult item because it shares its name with the Canadian instrumental band, but the film is an interesting documentary that looks into the world of Japanese motorcycle gangs of the 1970s.

THE HELLSTROM CHRONICLE aka Hellstorm Chronicle (1971) A pseudo-documentary about insects taking over the world, complete with Microcosmos like camera work. A very interesting use of the mad animal genre. The film was named after a fictitious swedish scientist: Nils Hellstrom. GET THIS TITLE presented with COLOR BOX ART here

Historie(s) du Cinéma (1997) English Subtitled (5 DVD set) This art-film class explores the history of cinema through the mind of the greatest film auteur: Jean-Luc Godard. Godard uses footage from great films with overdubbed narration and pop captions to show his perspectives on film as an art, apparatus, catharsis, and narrator.

HORROR EFFECTS WITH TOM SAVINI Take lessons from the special effects master Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead, Maniac, and Day of the Dead). This highly entertaining instructional footage is essential to any horror collection.

INCREDIBLY STRANGE FILM SHOW Volume 2 (1988) 3 EPISODES that include such cult superstars as Ted V. Mikels, Doris Wishman, Goerge A. Romero, and Fred Olen Ray.

JABBERWALK aka This Is America (1976) In foreign language with NO English subtitles. An odd documentary on the bizarre and unusual practices in America.

THE KILLING OF AMERICA (1982) The film the American authorities didn't want you to see! This documentary displays the decline of American culture through murder and mayhem. Great footage of assassinations and riots; truly a disturbing film.

STANLEY KUBRICK: THE INVISIBLE MAN  (1996)  A nice documentary on Stanley Kubrick with many of the stars in his films discussing the director's art.

THE LUGOSI FILES Great footage of Lugosi rarities and interviews: this compilation has a great TV performance of Lugosi in full Dracula character. An essential collection for the 1930's monster collector. GET THIS TITLE presented with COLOR BOX ART here

MINGUS (1968) An illustrative look into the hard life of a jazz legend: Charles Mingus. Great live performances are spliced into this look into Mingus moving into a studio with his daughter. He is surrounded by artifacts from his life, and then we get to see it all torn away as the police throw him out and arrest him with the cameras rolling. As a great activist during the 60s, Mingus's career slowly went downhill, and the sad display of this in the film dries your mouth.

THE MURDER OF FRED HAMPTON (1971) An interesting, historical look at the last years of the leader of the Black Panthers, Fred Hampton. The film also focuses on the times after Hampton's death and the history of the Black Panthers.

PSYCHIC CONFESSION (1981) This is an excellent unveiling of fraudulence. James Hydrick "tricked the whole world" into thinking he could move objects with his mind. Well, this Myth Busters type documentary uses science to prove him so wrong, he openly admits his farce and reveals his secrets.

ROCK AND ROLL: A SEARCH FOR GOD (198?) Something is so entertaining about this evangelist Christian warning against rock and roll. The documentary is just so pop, from the text font, the colors, to the way the rock footage is presented, I think Godard would actually dig this thing.

SATANIC PANIC LIVES! Three documentaries dealing with the ever popular (at least in my house) topic of Satanic panic that was the cause celeb throughout the 80's and 90's!! First off is a half hour spot that is rather evenhanded and deals with the history of various pagan religions and how the Christian church has demonized them over the years. Watch out for a quick soundbyte from Disinformation's head honcho Richard Metzger. Next is a British scare show called Satanic Panic and Secret Societies that goes full throttle into the kook bin trying desperately to prove that secret cabals of satan worshipers are combing the streets for your kids RIGHT NOW!!! And finally the nugget of gold in this jackpot: A twelve minute short film about Cathy O'Brien the poster girl for Satanic ritual abuse. Here the 40 something babe explains how she was pimped out to various high ranking official such as every president in the last forty years and most horrifyingly members of the Country and Western music scene! The piece then becomes a cock tease as she claims there is a secret Satanic branding on her vagina thus proving everything is true. The hoax pulled is a dozey and well worth checking out!

SATAN RIDES THE MEDIA (2000) English Subtitled. A Norwegian documentary on the church burning Black Metal maniacs. Fans of the book Lords of Chaos will love this collections of Black Metal interviews, news footage, and photos.

SAVAGE MAN, SAVAGE BEAST (1974) WARNING: This film contains scenes of horrifying carnage by man against animal, animal against man, animal against animal, and man against man. Filmed around the world, it is the ultimate revelation of the kill. It is entirely authentic. Too violent to be shown anywhere else in the world. Everything you see is real! See a man torn apart and eaten alive by lions while his family watches in horror. See teenage killers massacre and eat their father's corpses. See bounty hunters castrate, mutilate and rape their prisoners.

TRIBULATION 99: ALIEN ANOMALIES UNDER AMERICA  (1992) An odd pseudo-documentary--made with stock footage and pop culture reels--that reveals an underground race of aliens that struck back at America after Atomic testing with a replicant Castro, the psychic vampire regime in Grenada, and the Allende plot to alter the Earth's axis.

TRUE GORE (1987) Banned in 38 countries! This mondo death voyage is filled with footage and photos of that horrible thing in which we will all participate. Grim isn't it?

JOEL PETER WITKIN: L'IMAGE INDELEBILE & VILE BODIES Two documentaries that take a look into the process Joel Peter Witkin does to turn the dead into art. Witkin used body parts and entire carcasses to invent a new artform of filth. GET THIS TITLE presented with COLOR BOX ART here
